Challenges for RWG
The QHSSE team believed in the digitization of Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment management, but did not have the right software system to implement it. Some Excel sheets were used, linked to SharePoint, which resulted in a static way of capturing data. This setup worked, although the system was not fully dedicated to managing QHSSE issues. Crucial features were missing, like action management, email supported workflows and notifications, automatically generated, real-time KPI dashboards and multi-language settings. Ratios like Lost Time Injury (LTI), Total Recordable Incident (TRIR) had to be calculated manually. Functional change requests to the system were cumbersome and took a long time to implement. When the opportunity came up to evaluate QHSSE software solutions, the team soon chose Safety Dashboard. They wanted a solution that met their current but also future demands and is continuously being developed. A web based and standard software solution that is integrated and dedicated to QHSSE.

Easy implementation and improved user experience with Safety Dashboard

It was very easy to get started with Safety Dashboard. The implementation project went well. A project group was formed, consisting of RWG employees and a Safety Dashboard project team. There was a lot of substantive discussion about how we ultimately wanted to use the solution. Our own Safety Dashboard environment was ready within a few days to get started with the first pilot group.

After go-live all the RWG staff members started using the Safety Dashboard tools. Everybody got used to the system very quickly. This improved employee engagement. A very positive experience. The customer focus of Safety Dashboard staff brings great satisfaction. When called upon the consultant answers very quickly. At RWG this is really appreciated and valued by the entire QHSSE team.

About facts and figures; can you tell us something about the results you achieved with Safety Dashboard?

The RWG QHSSE policy does not allow to provide any specific statistical data. What can be disclosed, is that the reporting culture has further improved with using Safety Dashboard. Events are easily reported, there are no barriers for staff members to participate and this is seen as a great result. With the statistics and target KPIs, RWG will now work on further improvement of QHSSE results.
